In the world of contemporary Latin music, few groups have captured the essence of friendship, intimacy, and authentic sound quite like the Argentinian trio, TRÍADA. Formed in 2023, TRÍADA consists of three talented young women—Julia Percowicz (vocalist), Aylen Reynoso (guitarist), and Diamela Spina (vocalist and percussionist)—whose unique musical bond is reflected in their emotive and genre-blending sound.
The trio’s name, "TRÍADA," meaning a “three-note chord” and symbolizing the deep sisterhood shared by the three musicians, came to Julia’s mind while writing a poem about their friendship. This simple yet powerful word now defines their musical identity. Julia shares, “There were no other options; TRÍADA was the perfect name to capture the essence of our bond and our music."
A Musical Journey Rooted in Friendship
At just 19 years old, Diamela, Aylen, and Julia exude a musical maturity far beyond their years. Their early covers on social media—including a widely praised rendition of João Gilberto’s “O Pato”—introduced them to an international audience, with their debut release amassing over 2 million views on Instagram. The trio’s ability to reinterpret classic songs with their youthful flair, coupled with their undeniable chemistry, has earned them praise from fans and critics alike.
Each member brings a personal connection to music: Diamela’s love for drumming began at age five, Julia grew up surrounded by music thanks to her mother, a choir director, and Aylen found her passion for music in 2019, formally pursuing studies the following year. Their shared experiences and deep bond are the foundation of TRÍADA’s unique sound.
TRÍADA’s Evolution: From Local Performances to International Recognition
The trio's journey began in local Argentine festivals, plazas, and bars before quickly catching the attention of Verve Records and Mercury Records. Their music, which effortlessly fuses genres such as folklore, jazz, bossanova, and acoustic singer-songwriter styles, speaks to a generation yearning for authenticity and emotional depth.
Now, with their EP "De Versiones y Alma"—a collection of covers reinterpreted with a fresh Argentine twist—TRÍADA is ready to make a lasting impact on the global music scene. The EP encapsulates their evolving sound, blending playful joy with heartfelt tenderness, and inviting listeners to experience the deep connection they share as friends and musicians.
A Beautiful Blend of Cultures and Sound
In addition to reimagining beloved classics, TRÍADA has collaborated with international artists from Brazil, Uruguay, and the UK. One such track, a cover of Sofia Alvez’s “Rompí” from Uruguay, showcases the trio's beautiful cross-cultural exchange, as Diamela reflects on the enriching experience of creating with artists from different backgrounds.
The EP also features tracks that highlight themes of love and tenderness. “Canción Para Bañar La Luna”, originally a lullaby by María Elena Walsh, brings the moon to life with evocative imagery, while “Sale La Luna”, a translation of Liana Flores’s “Rises the Moon”, marks TRÍADA’s first-ever translation project. With this track, the trio not only brings their Argentine roots to the forefront but also introduces Argentine music to a global audience.
The Future of TRÍADA
With their incredible debut EP, TRÍADA has proven that their artistic journey is only beginning. As they continue to explore new musical directions and delve deeper into their roots, they are committed to staying true to the emotional depth and authenticity that define their sound. While they haven't yet produced a full album, TRÍADA is clear about their future: “Our Argentine roots, and more broadly, our Latino roots, will always be part of what we do,” they declare.
As TRÍADA continues to break barriers and capture hearts worldwide, one thing is certain—they are poised to leave an indelible mark on the global music landscape.
