Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 have just released a revamped version of their critically acclaimed single "Love & Revolution," featuring French-Caribbean singer, bassist, and producer Adi Oasis. Titled "Love & Revolution (Cinnamon Version)," the new track is now available on all major digital platforms. This fresh take on the original song, which is part of Seun Kuti & Egypt 80’s Heavier Yet (Lays The Crownless Head) album, will also be included in a deluxe edition of the album coming this spring.
About the New Single:
The "Love & Revolution (Cinnamon Version)" fuses Seun Kuti’s powerful Afrobeat sound with Adi Oasis’s soulful, dynamic presence. The track delves deep into the themes of love as a revolutionary act, inspired by Seun Kuti's late wife and Egypt 80’s backup singer, Yetunde Kuti. The collaboration with Adi Oasis adds an exciting new layer, bringing an emotional depth to the song’s tribute to African women’s revolutionary spirit and the cultural movement of reclaiming African identity.
Adi Oasis, reflecting on her contribution, shared:
"I’m so honored to be part of this project. Seun is an incredible performer and a truly great human. We’ve been following each other’s work for years, and it’s amazing that he chose me to be part of this song, which celebrates the divine feminine and the strength of women with strong will and big hearts."
Upcoming US Tour:
Seun Kuti & Egypt 80’s much-anticipated US tour kicks off in April, and it includes stops at major festivals such as Coachella and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
