A Collective of Masterful Voices
Led by Juno Award winners Mike Murley (saxophone) and Florian Hoefner (piano), and featuring acclaimed bassist Jim Vivian, Atlantic Jazz Collective brings a blend of lyricism, virtuosity, and deep-rooted jazz sensibilities. They’re joined by the iconic Norma Winstone, whose evocative vocal interpretations elevate the compositions to poetic heights, and jazz drumming legend Joe LaBarbera, whose energy and sensitivity propel the ensemble forward.
Recorded in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Seascape is inspired by the natural rhythms of the Atlantic coast. The album's atmosphere is shaped by the fluid movement of water, the intimacy of personal reflection, and the freedom of jazz improvisation.
