FRANK
BARHAM & BRAZILIAN FUSION - LEVITATING
The many
musical influences on the music of Frank Barham can be heard on this EP. Blues,
Jazz, and Funk were all part of the fabric of the sounds of the Southeastern
U.S. where Frank grew up and you can hear it when he plays his Chromatic
Harmonica, but you hear more than that too. His fascination with rhythm led to
his study of West African and Senegalese rhythms with world renowned
percussionist Mor Thiam. While studying with Mor Thiam, Frank met drummers from
the Ballet Folklorica de Bahia, and was introduced to Samba. The energy and
passion of the music and the interaction between the dancers and drummers was
magical; Frank was hooked. These musical forms are threads in the tapestry that
has become the sound of this band. Passion, energy, and soul...you'll hear and
feel it all when you listen to Frank Barham & Brazilian Fusion! ~ CD
