THE SOUL OF CAPITOL RECORDS: RARE & WELL-DONE

In honor of Black Music Month, Capitol/EMI has released a new digital compilation, The Soul Of Capitol Records: Rare & Well-Done (Vol. 1). The collection, available now for download purchase from all major digital service providers, features 20 songs that are noteworthy not only for their quality, but also for their rarity. The collection includes "Can't She Tell," a Billy Preston song co-written by Sly Stone, and "Turn Away From Me," an understated collectible by Patti Drew. Other gems include "Lover And A Friend" by the renowned Eddie Bo & Inez Cheatham, and "Evidence," one of many intoxicating singles recorded by Patrice Holloway during her stint at Capitol Records in the late 1960s & early '70s. In addition to the new 'Rare & Well-Done' compilation, several classic albums and collections by legendary soul artists have recently been made available for download purchase for the first time by Capitol/EMI. Timeless albums from Etta James, Ike & Tina Turner, The Ohio Players, Irma Thomas, and Johnny Guitar Watson are just a few of the soul staples that are now digitally available and featured during the month-long celebration.
