New York’s smooth jazz station, CD101.9 is hosting a series of smooth cruises as they call it, featuring the sounds of some favorite smooth jazz artists. The cruises board at Pier 63 Chelsea Piers and sail along the Hudson River via Spirit Cruises for what promises to be a ‘smooth’ and beautiful evening. Smooth jazz artists scheduled to appear are:
Down To The Bone (June 21);
Bobby Caldwell (June 28);
Pie
ces Of A Dream (July 5);
David Benoit (July 12);
Mindi Abair (July 19);
Phil Perry (July 26);
Brain Culbertson (August 2);
Marion Meadows (August 9);
Spyro Gyra (August 16); and
The Rippingtons featuring
Russ Freeman (August 23). Each cruise will be hosted by a CD101.9 radio personality, including
Paul Calvalconte, Linda Bruno, Sergio Dean, Sharon Davis, Deborah Rath, Robin Marshall, Meryl Kubrick, Amy McLane, Liz Andrews, and
Batt Johnson. Looks like the only person missing is the Groove Boutique’s
Rafe Gomez – what’s up with that!
