Stevie Wonder will be honored at the Dec. 10 Grammy Jam at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles. The event will also feature performances by India.Arie, Eric Benet, Herbie Hancock, Heather Headley, Slash, Chris Brown, Angie Stone, Tamia, Aaron Neville, George Benson, former Stone Temple Pilots principals Dean and Robert DeLeo, George Duke, Josh Groban, Raphael Saadiq, Hootie & the Blowfish and Ray Parker Jr. All proceeds will benefit the Entertainment Industry Foundation's National Arts and Music Education Initiative. His latest Motown album is entitled A Time To Love.
The McGuire Sisters' Phyllis McGuire duets with Barry Manilow on his upcoming new album, The Greatest Songs Of The Fifties. due January 31 via Arista. Manilow teams with producer Clive Davis on his first new album in five years. McGuire and Manilow perform a medley of Sincerely and Teach Me Tonight.
The 2006 Essence Music Festival has tentatively relocated to Houston (from New Orleans) as a result of the Hurricane Katrina rebuilding efforts. The event is scheduled for July 1-3, 2006 and this past year featured performances by Alicia Keys among many others.
The second Annual Cayman Jazz Fest 2005 is set to launch on December 1 – 3, 2005 and it features smooth jazz favorites including Al Jarreau, George Duke, Earl Klugh, plus Ravi Coltrane, Arturo Tappin, and Yolando Adams.
