An amazing tribute to the music of Ray Charles – served up here in a special package of tracks from his own Tangerine and Crossover record labels – a fair bit of which haven't been on the market for many many years, and which are presented here with an unreleased live set from the 70s! The package is book-style – with a hardcover jacket, and notes and photos of Ray and his associates – but the real treasure is the music, as there's plenty of tracks here that we're normally only able to track down on vinyl, either on the old albums from the 60s and 70s, or on some of the obscure 45s that were issued on Tangerine too! And although Ray experimented with other artists on the label, the main focus here is on Ray's vocals and talents as a bandleader – although CD5 does feature some duets from later years too.
