Vocalist & Harp Ukulelist Gracie Terzian Releases Christmas EP "Bells & White Branches"

New York singer-songwriter and harp ukulelist, Gracie Terzian, announces the release of her Christmas EP Bells & White Branches via Aima Records. Consisting of six tracks, Bells & White Branches showcases classic songs with refreshingly beautiful and innovative arrangements, which keep the harp ukulele front and center. The soft, haunting sounds of Terzian’s voice, combined with her harp ukulele, provide a rich new interpretation of the well-loved songs with both jazz and folk influences.

Steeped in the language of jazz, Terzian wanted to try her hand at an album of her favorite Christmas songs, but with a folk-jazz fusion that employs the unique tonal vocabulary of her harp ukulele. “I’ve loved these tunes since I was a child,” says Terzian, “and I approached them lovingly, but from a very different place.” The album was recorded in Brooklyn at both Soda Aroma Studio and Big Orange Sheep Studio.

Track List:

1. "I'll Be Home For Christmas"
2. "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"
3. The Christmas Song
4. "Silent Night"
5. "Coventry Carol"
6. "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"

Originally from Virginia, Gracie Terzian, with her distinctively nostalgic vocals and unusual musical instrument, has gathered a following through live performances at many clubs, venues and festivals in the U.S. and abroad, including Antone’s, Rough Trade NYC, Blue Note NYC, Birdland, Smalls Jazz Club, EXIT/IN, El Sotono - AmonSolar, Utopia Music Festival, Ukulele Festival of Scotland, Gaithersburg Ukulele Festival, NJ Ukulele Festival, Albuquerque Ukulele Festival, and many others. She released her debut EP of original music Saints and Poets in 2015 to critical acclaim, debuting at #23 on Billboard’s Jazz charts and as the #3 Jazz Album on iTunes.
