The album is highlighted by a stunning rendition of the classic Nina Simone song, "Four Women," performed by Izibor alongside the late Nina Simone herself, Simone (the legendary singer's daughter), and Ledisi. Izibor's own "What More Can They Do" will be also included among new and unreleased tracks from an assortment of female artists, including Estelle, Janelle Monáe, Macy Gray, Leona Lewis, and Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings. For Colored Girls: Music From & Inspired By The Original Motion Picture will be released on November 2nd, while Lionsgate/34th Street Films' production of For Colored Girls hits theatres nationwide on November 5th. The critically acclaimed Irish soul singer, who is currently in the studio recording the eagerly awaited follow-up to her acclaimed 2008 debut, Let The Truth Be Told was recently among the influential young stars showcased on the BET/Centric series, Grey Goose Presents Rising Icons. The show, which features an in-depth interview with Izibor as well as an intimate live performance, debuted earlier this month and is scheduled to re-air on Centric throughout October (check local listings). By 15, she had honed her vocal talent to such a high level that she won Ireland's prestigious RTÉ 2fm Song Contest. It wasn't long before Laura began working on what would ultimately become Let The Truth Be Told recording her self-penned songs in such cities as New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Dublin. Highlighted by the hit singles, "From My Heart To Yours" and "Don't Stay," the album instantly established Laura as a major presence in contemporary R&B while reaping tremendous praise from such national and international publications as Rolling Stone, which featured her among its "Artists To Watch."
