BEBEL GILBERTO - ALL IN ONE

“All In One” is Bebel Gilberto’s seductive debut for Verve Foreceast. Known for her adventurous blends of Brazilian, European and electronic pop styles, Gilberto continues to blur musical boundaries. But the sensual rhythms of her native country dominate the production courtesy of Carlinhos Brown, Didi Gutman (Brazilian Girls), Mark Ronson, Daniel Jobim and John King of the acclaimed Dust Brothers. Unlike her previous albums, “All In One” is a more personal endeavor. In addition to silky originals, the album includes imaginitive covers, such as the Ronson produced and Stevie Wonder-penned "The Real Thing," the album's club-ready highlight, featuring a propulsive groove provided by The Dap-Kings. Bebel also recorded Bob Marley's "Sun Is Shining" and Carmen Miranda's "Chica Chica Boom Chic." The latter song, with Carlinhos Brown's percussive-heavy arrangements, is Gilberto's tribute to Miranda. Most of the record is sung in Portuguese, Gilberto’s native language, and was conceived, developed and recorded in her home studio. Gilberto also performs a duet with Daniel Jobim (the grandson of Antonio Carlos Jobim) on “Bim Bom,” a song that was first recorded by her father, bossa nova legend Joao Gilberto.

Bebel Gilberto’s first international hit debut “Tanto Tempo” was released in 2000 and it helped spark a resurgence in American interest in Brazilian music, and it sold millions worldwide. She met with critical acclaim, enjoying global success with the hits “Batucada” and “Technova.” Over the years, she has collaborated with artists including Arto Lindsay, Kenny G, Thievery Corporation, David Bynre, and Nina Miranda. “All In One” will be released on September 29.
