CHUCK LOEB - 50th ANNIVERSARY OF BOSSA NOVA

Smooth Jazz guitarist Chuck Loeb is planning a series of 50th anniversary of the Bossa Nova concerts, and he’s enlisted the help of several top notch fellow smooth jazz artists to come along for the ride. The concerts will be a celebration of the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Astrud Gilberto, Joao Gilberto, and of course Stan Getz. It’s thanks to these 4 artists that the sound of Bossa Nova was able to spread throughout the world and eventually became a phenomenon. The show will be presented as an homage to these artists. The lineup for the shows includes Will Lee (bass); Eric Marienthal (sax); Rob Monsey and Matt King (keyboards); Cliff Almond (drums); CafĂ© (percussion); Lizzy Loeb (guitar); and on selected concerts – Chris Hunter (sax) and Tom Scott (sax).

Chuck Loeb has two new album projects in the works. He is currently working on a new album being produced by Jason Miles that will be released later this year. Other musicians joining Chuck Loeb on this project include Gerald Veasley, Ralph McDonald, Maysa, Buddy Williams and a few others. After that one is wrapped, he’ll start to work on another for release in May 2009.
