NORMAN BROWN - NEW CD & TOUR INFO

Grammy Award-winning guitarist/singer Norman Brown has just released Stay With Me, and this summer he will launch his third annual Summer Storm tour, with Peabo Bryson, Marion Meadows and Jeff Lorber. The tour begins on May 26th in Oceanside, California and continues through the summer and fall, winding up in Avalon, California at the Catalina Jazz Fest on October 21st.

The title track was written and produced by singer/songwriter Brian McKnight, who provides back-up vocals to the R&B tune. Trumpeter Rick Braun and saxophonist Kirk Whalum also guest on the album for a reunion of supergroup BWB on "It's Not Over," and guitarist/producer Paul Brown collaborated on "Pop's Cool Groove" and "Soul Dance" and produced "I Need You." One of his favorite tracks is the bossa nova-flavored "Pop's Cool Groove," which was inspired by his father, who was a fan of legendary guitarist Wes Montgomery. "He would sit down in the basement and listen to me practice for hours and hours," Brown recalls of his dad. "He really liked Wes Montgomery and that style, so I learned that style. And when I finished this song, it was like, 'Oh, yeah. This is Pop's cool groove."

Stay With Me includes the following tracks:

"Let's Take A Ride You"
"You Keep Lifting Me Higher"
"Pop's Cool Groove"
"It Ain't Over BWB"
"So In Love"
"Stay With Me"
