WJCD-FM (107.7) in Virginia has returned to their smooth jazz format. In March 2004, WJCD-FM abandoned smooth jazz for soft rock favorites and now after less then two years the station has switched back. “People have been asking for this for a long time," said
Travis Dylan, program director for WJCD. “Based on listener feedback, we decided to make a change.” Dylan said the station will play contemporary smooth jazz by
Boney James,
Pieces Of A Dream and
Sade as well as older recordings by such artists as
Dave Brubeck and
Etta James. The change took place at midnight on Dec. 26. WJCD is owned by Clear Channel Communications.
