CHILL GROOVES & SMOOTH JAZZ NEWS: KENNY THOMAS, CHUCK LOEB, VICTOR FIELDS, EUGE GROOVE & MORE...

U.K. soul singer Kenny Thomas returns with a new CD after many years out of the limelight. The new release, Crazy World (Curb Records) is a gem that must not be overlooked. Included on the CD is a nod to the Dramatics in the slow dancer Let It Rain, the jazzier Foolin' Around, some light funk with Sunshine Girl, and the powerhouse track, Him, produced by Simon Law….

Singer Victor Fields is joined by Nelson Braxton, Chris Camozzi, Jeff Lorber, Richard Elliot, and Rick Braun on his latest project, Thinking Of You (Regina Records). The CD is out now.

Danilo Perez, Billy Cobham, Jorge Sylvester, Nnenna Freelon, Renato Thoms, Carlos Garnett, and Santi De Briano are set to perform at the Panama Jazz Festival 2007, The event is scheduled for Jan. 15 to 20 and it will be dedicated to Barbara Wilson.

Legacy Recordings will release Toni Braxton’s The Essential Toni Braxton on Feb. 20, and Herbie Hancock’s Techno Voodu-Astral Black Simulations, also on Feb. 20.

Singer/songwriter/percussionist, Keith Robertson releases his debut CD, Love, Life & Relationships. The leadoff track is the danceable Love U Like Crazy.

Chuck Loeb’s Good To Go is the first single from his upcoming CD, Presence, and it is already making headways on the smooth jazz charts. The song recently hit #21 on the smooth jazz charts. Presence hits the shelves on Jan. 27.

Euge Groove has begun working in Los Angeles on his next studio effort for Narada Jazz. The saxophone alumnus of artists ranging from Tower Of Power to Richard Marx to Tina Turner is producing his next set of funky tracks with the assistance of producer Paul Brown.
