NEW TONY BENNETT ALBUM ‘TONY BENNET: DUETS/AN AMERICAN CLASSIC’ MAINTAINS TOP 5 CHART POSITION IN SECOND WEEK OF SALES

Tony Bennett's career has enjoyed an extraordinary vitality and longevity and his new CD, Tony Bennett: Duets/An American Classic is showing its own remarkable staying power on the Billboard Top 200. Last week, Tony's CD entered the chart at #3, marking the highest chart debut of the 80-year-old legend's career, and this week, Duets/An American Classic has maintained a solid position (#4) in the chart's Top 5 (Justin Timberlake, coming in at #5, was the only other artist from last week to remain in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200). Tony Bennett: Duets/An American Classic has also maintained its Top 5 chart position in its second sales week in Canada, coming in at #3, after debuting last week at #1 on the Canadian album charts. Tony Bennett is the star and subject of a prime-time special, "Tony Bennett: An American Classic" airing on NBC-TV on November 21. Directed by Oscar winner Rob Marshall, "Tony Bennett: An American Classic" features many of the artist on his Duets CD including Barbra Streisand, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Diana Krall, k.d. Lang, Michael Buble and Juanes. Christina Aguilera joins Tony for a performance segment on the special while segment narrations on Tony's life and career are presented by Billy Crystal, Robert DeNiro, John Travolta, Bruce Willis and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
