For the second year, Symphony Space and Blue Note Records present intimate evenings of music and conversation between Blue Note recording artists and Blue Note CEO Bruce Lundvall. Artists include Jason Moran, Patricia Barber and Jacky Terrasson and all performances will be at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia in Los Angeles. The schedule is as follows:
Nov. 9, 2006 - Jason Moran - Through improvisation, composition, group concert, repertoire, and technique/technological experimentation, pianist Jason Moran has become a leader in the modern jazz world.
Jan. 18, 2007 - Patricia Barber - Pianist-vocalist Patricia Barber has been winning over audiences for the past decade on the merits of several "coolly modern" albums released jointly by Premonition and Blue Note Records.
Mar. 15, 2007 - Jacky Terrasson - Pianist-composer Jacky Terrasson’s unique style encompasses elements of blues and improvisation, reflecting influences old and new. This Thelonius Monk Competition-winner puts his distinctive stamp on his own compositions and many well-known standards.
