2006 BMW POP-JAZZ TOUR SAN FRANCISCO TO FEATURE MIKE PHILLIPS

The 2006 BMW Pop-Jazz Live Tour will visit the city of San Francisco on October 10, 2006. Pop-jazz is an emerging genre that bridges jazz artistry with soul, funk, pop, rock and hip-hop. The tour will feature world-renowned Hidden Beach saxophonist Mike Phillips along with special guest artists and local talent. Phillips has been entertaining audiences with his genre-blending sax play with the help of notable artists from contemporary smooth jazz artists Jonathan Butler and Jeff Lorber to R&B artists Babyface, Brian McKnight and Jill Scott. His debut album, You Have Reached Mike Phillips entered Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz chart at #4, while his recent sophomore release, Uncommon Denominator, reached #3. Phillips is also featured on Hidden Beach’s top selling Unwrapped pop-jazz-hip-hop collaboration series of releases. He’s also been a featured saxophonist on Prince’s Musicology Tour and with Stevie Wonder on his many worldwide performances.
