JAZZ CHILL NEWS BITS: PATTI AUSTIN, LEE RITENOUR, WAYMAN TISDALE, TONY BENNETT, MAYSA LEEK, TEENA MARIE, ANTHONY HAMILTON & MORE...

Patti Austin will be appearing at the YMCA Celebrity Classic fundraiser with a performance at Trail Creek Cabin in Wood River Valley, Idaho on August 6……….Smoke And Mirrors is the new album from smooth jazz guitarist Lee Ritenour. This new release features Ritenour’s classic guitar sound infused with touches of Latin, African and some smooth vocals as well……….George Duke, Jeff Lorber, and Toni Braxton join bassist Wayman Tisdale on his newest release, Way Up! There’s also a nice update of Kool & The Gang’s Get Down On It on the CD………..Maysa Leek performs at Zanzibar Blue in Philadelphia on August 4 & 5, and at the Verison Wireless Theater in Houston on August 6.……….Teena Marie, Anthony Hamilton, Gladys Knight, Charlie Wilson, The Manhattan, Harold Melvin’s Blue Notes, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly and India.Arie will perform at the 11th annual Berrmuda Music Festival, to be held Oct. 4-7 at Bermuda’a Royal Navy Dockyard. Legendary singer Tony Bennett has been chosen as the recipient for the 2006 Billboard Century Award, the magazine's highest honor for creative achievement. The award will be presented to Bennett in December at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.
