JAZZ CHILL CORNER NEWSBITS..........Chick Corea, David Benoit, Gary Burton, Sophie Milman and Chris Botti will headline the Cultural Trust of the Palm Beaches’ (South Florida) inaugural season beginning in October. The Trust’s season runs through April, with the Palm Beach International Jazz Festival, April 14-15……….Smooth jazz guitarist Joyce Cooling is set to release her new CD Revolving Door in the coming weeks. The first track being serviced to smooth jazz radio is the funky Mildred’s Attraction, which will go for radio playlist adds on August 14……….The new Paul Hardcastle Jazzmasters V album has finally been released. The Jazzmasters will appear at the upcoming Catalina Island Jazz Music Festival on October 8 and 15……….George Benson, Al Jarreau and Raul Midon appear in concert at the Westbury Music Theater in Westbury, NY on August 11………. The CD101.9 Liberty Jazz Festival is beginning to take shape as additional artists have just been announced. Gato Barbieri, Norman Brown, Patti Austin, Alex Bugnon, Paul Taylor and Gil Parris headline the September 9 show at Liberty State Park in New Jersey. The September 10 concert will feature Wayman Tisdale, Kirk Whalum, Jonathan Butler, Jeff Golub, Stanley Jordan, Brian Simpson, Richard Elliot, Gerald Albright and Peter White……….Jazz singer Nicole Henry recently headlined the 17th annual Nango Jazz Festival in Japan as part of her 10-day overseas tour. The release of her 2004 debut album (The Nearness Of You) in the U.S. was the 5th most added CD during its first month of release, and eventually reaching #27 on the Jazz Week charts. Henry just completed recording her third CD.
