The TD-Canada Trust Ottawa International Jazz Festival has confirmed pianist
Brad Mehldau will perform two concerts on June 27. Unlike his last Ottawa appearance in 2002, when he played for 7,500 people in Confederation Park, Mehldau will perform this time in the intimate 375-seat auditorium at Library & Archives Canada. Acclaimed as one of the most adventurous pianists in jazz, Mehldau will be accompanied by bassist
Larry Grenadier and drummer
Jeff Ballard. The trio is expected to perform music from
House On Hill, a CD to be released in Canada the day of the Ottawa concerts.
