COOL RELEASES FROM KING BRITT, HIRD, MARTIN DENNY, LARRY HEARD & MARC COURTNEY JOHNSON
KING BRITT - This Is King Britt
Here is a fantastic collection of King Britt’s work! This is 2-CD set that features 26 tracks from a wide variety of sources which covers the true range of his talents. Disc 1 features King Britt himself while Disc 2 is comprised of his remixes for other artists.
MARTIN DENNY - Primitiva
Primitiva is one of Martin Denny's best albums!. This CD comes in both mono and stero mixes and it includes all the elements that you would typically expect from Denny – complete with a wealth of odd added percussion - including gongs, cymbals, tuned logs, steel drums, chimes, and "chromatic bamboo"!
LARRY HEARD - Loose Fingers Soundtrack From The Duality Double-Play Excellent work from Larry Heard as he displays a jazzy sensibility on the keys that really sets him apart.
HIRD - Moving On
Very nice keyboard plus cool soul and rhythms on this set from the Scandinavian scene. Multiple tracks can be heard on chill and smooth jazz stations worldwide.
MARC COURTNEY JOHNSON - Marc Courtney Johnson & The Dan Cray Trio
Marc Courtney Johnson is a new jazz vocalist hailing from Chicago, with a sound reminiscent of Al Jarreau and George Benson. The Dan Cray Trio provides wonderful support for Marc on the set -- allowing for lively rhythms, long runs on the piano, and the right sort of energy to match Johnson's lyrically flowing style.
