TINA TURNER 2008-09 WORLD TOUR

Due to increased demand, Tina Turner has added additional concerts to keep up with fan the demand surrounding her upcoming North American tour. he initial round of concerts went on sale May 10 and the launch date for October 1 in Kansas City, MO sold out in virtually two minutes. More performances were added last week and now, second nights have been added in San Jose, CA; Newark, NJ; and Uniondale, NY, while a third performance was added on in the Los Angeles area. The updated North American itinerary includes 28 shows across the U.S. and into Canada through mid-December.

Tina Turner also has plans to launch a European outing early next year. Listed below (in addition to the North American dates) is a partial listing of the European legs of the tour. We expect more European dates to be added soon. The concert is expected to feature a major production to complement hits spanning Turner's four-decade career. Turner's most recent studio album, "Twenty Four Seven," was released in 1999. Last fall, the eight-time Grammy winner released "Celebrate: The Best of Tina Turner," a 95-minute DVD taken from a 1999 concert that celebrated her 60th birthday. The legendary singer has sold 170 million records during her career, according to her bio, and is one of the most successful female rock artists of all time.

Her last tour in 2000 was said to be her last, and grossed $110 million. At the time, it was the top-selling tour by a female artist, although this record has since been beaten by Madonna and Cher.
